This past Monday night I had the honor of attending Debrett’s 500 Gala at the iconic BAFTA 195 Picadilly. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Debrett’s, they have recognized people of influence and achievement in British society for nearly 250 years. In 1769, John Debrett published the first edition of the Peerage, and since 1982, Debrett’s has recognized the achievements of over 20,000 people from every sector of society in People of Today. The annual Debrett’s 500, launched in 2014, extends its recognition of the most influential, inspiring and high achieving individuals across Britain. Today, the brand works across many different platforms to share the expertise of their team including a training academy that inspires and empowers the people of tomorrow. This evening was to celebrate the publication of the 2017 DEBRETT’S 500 list in association with The Telegraph Magazine and Gala partners for 2017 BMW and HUGO BOSS.

I was picked up by a BMW 7- Series in Chelsea with London “It” girl, influencer and designer Marissa Montgomery. (BTW Marissa is amazing, you have to check out her celeb-approved t-shirt line “Rotten Roach“). We were shuttled off to the event and arrived very toasty despite the freezing cold temperature outside.

The event began with a cocktail reception followed by a panel presentation hosted by Sky News presenter Sarah-Jane Mee. The panelist’s included Noma Dumezweni, currently playing Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and The Cursed Child at the Palace Theatre and Team GB’s most decorated female Olympian, Dame Katherine Grainger. Noma Dumezweni was so inspiring and just excluded positive energy. I so regret not fangirling her for a photo!

After the panel, everyone returned to the party room and celebrated the rest of the evening with food, drinks, and entertainment. The guest list included VIP’s such as Charlotte Tilbury, Mark Francis Vandelli, Talia Storm, Georgia Toffolo, Camilla Rutherford, Stephanie Pratt, Marissa Montgomery to name a  Jan De Villeneuve, Jay Rutland, Pattie Boyd, Touker Suleyman, Gethin Jones, Frances Morris and Yinka Shonibare MBE.  It was such an incredible night surrounded by people who have achieved great things and accomplished much. Very inspiring way to kick-off my trip to the U.K!
