There are two ways to approach decorating a new home; 1. shop and buy everything you want immediately and fill up your place within a few weeks or months, or 2. take time, live in the space, find out what you really need what works for you and purchase bit by bit.

We have been shopping home decor since May and little by little areas of our Houston condo are coming together. The first pieces of furniture were the ones we got together for our first apartment; the PB Comfort knife edged sofa and RH tufted ottoman coffee table pictured above. We purchased them with our future home in mind knowing we wanted a more traditional/ transitional living and dining room. The piece transitioned easily into our very bright, white living room however our new space is double the size thus leaving much to be filled.  To complete the living room we still need quite a few things. At minimum chairs for across the sofa, side tables, area rug, wall art/ decor and a floor lamp are on our current shopping list.

I’m so looking forward to finishing this room where we will be doing the majority of our entertaining  and hanging out with friends.
