Mixing Jewel Toned Textures

Velvet, swede and knit, oh my! Mixing rich, luxe textures is a great look for Fall/Winter. Bring in interesting, heavier textiles to not only keep you warm but looking cool too. If your just starting out wearing and mixing luxe materials start with keeping each piece in the same tone and keep patterns minimal. As you start to feel comfortable proceed into more ornate textiles like brocade and brighter colors. I love jewel toned hues for this time of year, but there are some stunning gold, red and silver brocade patterns that are great to incorporate in your look too!

This sweater from BCBG was an awesome outlet find. Online I could only find it in white which I have linked below! not only do I love the color and textured weave but the structure is very cool, reminding me of a knights armor. These crushed velvet pants from AG are awesome. At first I was thinking, “when am I going to wear velvet pants??” and now it’s like… “when am I not!?”, these babies are fierce. Suede lace up booties are so chic, I wish I had them in my uniform wearing, high school days. I’ve linked some great versions of this shoe below as these are a purchase during a trip to Italy a couple of years ago.
