NYC Part 2: City Streets in Culottes

I don’t know if these “Grace” culottes from Flora+Mia could be be more perfectly named. Exuding elegance, like their name sake Grace Kelly, they are the perfect statement addition to my wardrobe. What I love about them, other than the pleating and high waisted cut, is how they playfully give the impression of midi skirt! I see so many future #OOTD with there beauties so consider yourself warned!

Culottes are making big splash so I’ve included my tips and tricks for rocking your flawlessly this summer and dare I say it… fall!

Tips and Tricks for wearing culottes this summer:

1. Add height. When an item is oversized I like to add some vertical distribution visually [with 3 inch heels] so the item doesn’t overpower me.

2. Don’t be afraid to get them hemmed. Regardless of your size, shape and height we all have a hem height flatters us the most [it’s usually mid-calf].

3. The shoe is kind of in the fore front here so rock a statement shoe you’re proud to show off.

4. If you’re feeling overwhelmed just think of them as A-line skirts and style them as such. A crop top, cute graphic tee etc.. you got this!

5. Add a fitted jacket or blazer for a professional look.
