As I get back into ballet this past couple of weeks I find my yoga practice to be improving ten fold. I took a hot yoga class on Monday evening with Matt and all the stretching and strength in the heated room felt amazing. I still work cautiously in both yoga and ballet so not to aggravate old injuries. For me, this means I make sure my core is always engaged and my hips and back are in proper alignment and not swayed into what we call a “banana back” (scientific I know). Also, I take it really easy on one legged transitions. I find that even though my sense of balance can take me from warrior to half moon in one movement I may be using the wrong muscles to get there as repetition of this one class last month resulted is debilitating back and hip pain for one week. Therefore I even if I may be feeling great in class and want to push myself beyond my body’s limitations I will pay the price after class and the next few days, so… what I’m trying to say is baby steps.
How awesome are these Ultracor star tights? So prefect for 4th of July sweat session. I grabbed this who look from SOBARE. They carry so many of my favorite brands in the athleisure wear world.
